The project aims to improve the physical health, social inclusion, and community engagement of rural youth through a new sports and dance club in Maqenis.

Establishing a sports club is crucial in rural settings to promote social engagement and mitigate migration intentions. It serves as an inclusive social space where children of different backgrounds can interact and develop a sense of community belonging.

The Maqenis community will provide an 85 m² space within a local building. The project will create two fully equipped training halls for dance, karate, and general fitness, featuring solar-powered heating systems.

The project will host regular weekly training sessions and create at least four jobs for professional coaches. Young residents from Makenis, Lchavan, and Akhpradzor settlements will have direct access to these new athletic and cultural opportunities.

Expected result

  • 551 children and 220 adolescents participating in activities.
  • Creation of at least 4 local jobs for instructors.
  • Fully operational training halls and sanitary facilities.
  • Sustainable heating powered by renewable solar energy.
