Arzuman Tonoyan
Ph.D. in Biology, Plant Breeder & Biotechnologist
Gayane is a distinguished scientist specializing in plant breeding, seed production, and genetics, holding a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences since 1992. She currently serves as the Deputy Director of the "Scientific Center of Agrobiotechnology" at the Armenian National Agrarian University (ANAU), where she also leads the Department of Plant Propagation by Biotechnological Methods. With over three decades of experience, she has managed the National Plant Gene Bank and led numerous high-impact projects funded by international organizations such as the FAO and the World Bank. Her research focuses on the creation of virus-free grape collections and the production of phylloxera-resistant planting materials.
