Advancing Climate-Resilient Agricultural Education: Training Vardenis Agriculture College Faculty on Climate-Smart Agriculture, Environmental Sustainability and Gender-Responsive Approaches
“Baleni” Agricultural Foundation intends to implement this project at the Vardenis State College named Badeiyan.
It is a unique vocational education institution that provides agricultural education for 27 rural communities in the region. The College currently has 380 students and a teaching staff of 51 lecturers, approximately 80% of whom are women.
We believe that capacity building of the College’s teaching staff through high-quality, climate-smart, and environmentally sustainable knowledge and methodologies will significantly contribute to strengthening the institutional capacities of the College.
The furnishing of the specialized training classroom envisaged under the project will directly contribute to improving the quality of education and supporting the preparation of more qualified and market-ready agricultural specialists.
This initiative is designed as part of a long-term cooperation. Baleni Foundation envisages integrating both students and lecturers into its ongoing and future projects in Gegharkunik region — engaging students as beneficiaries of production initiatives, and lecturers in ToT (Training of Trainers) projects.
Through this approach, the project is intended to initiate and expand wider, sustainable cooperation among education, production, and community development actors.
