  • Vayots Dzor and Lori regions
  • UNDP Armenia
  • 03.2026/12.2026

The objective of the project is to empower rural women with practical knowledge, skills, and innovative production models to optimize the use of household plots and increase household income.

The project will introduce resource-efficient and climate-resilient agricultural practices, including double cropping systems, drip irrigation, and advanced fertilization techniques, enabling women to reduce production costs while cultivating high-demand crops.

Through demonstration farms, beneficiary women will gain hands-on experience in modern water management, root and foliar nutrition practices, and will pilot an innovative open-field vertical production system capable of increasing yields per unit area by up to five times.

The project will engage rural women from the Vayots Dzor and Lori regions, integrating them into a knowledge-based, market-oriented agricultural production ecosystem, while strengthening women’s economic empowerment, resilience, and participation in sustainable rural development.

Beneficiaries:

  • 15 women farmers from Vayots Dzor region interested in strawberry production.
  • 30 women farmers from Lori region interested in vegetable production.
  • Approximately 105 women farmers in the Lori and Vayots Dzor regions will benefit from training and knowledge dissemination activities.
