“Franco–Armenian Cooperation for Agrivoltaic Innovation in Viticulture”
This project introduces the first Agrivoltaic system in Armenia, established within a commercial vineyard, marking an innovative step toward climate-smart and resource-efficient agriculture.
The initiative serves as a demonstration model for integrating renewable energy and agriculture, promoting sustainable land management, increasing productivity, and strengthening climate resilience.
Location: A 5-hectare intensive vineyard in Aghdzk village, Aragatsotn region.
As part of the project, a comprehensive technical assessment of the agrivoltaic system is being conducted, alongside the integration of advanced digital agriculture tools, enabling data-driven decision-making and precision farm management.
Baleni’s team of experts is carrying out continuous monitoring and evaluation of the system, analyzing its impact across different stages of vine growth and development. The findings will contribute to evidence-based recommendations for scaling agrivoltaic solutions in Armenia and the wider region.
Educational & Capacity-Building Component
The project has a strong educational component. It engages 2–3 students from the Armenian National Agrarian University, who will conduct their Bachelor’s or Master’s thesis research within the project framework, fostering knowledge transfer and the development of future professionals in innovative agriculture.
